About Us
We are a Peruvian feminist organization that has been working for the rights of women and people of color in Peru since 1978.
Who is Manuela Ramos?
We take our name from the anonymous woman, without a place of her own in public spaces, without recognition in history. Manuela Ramos was forged in the heat of multiple expressions of protest with alternatives to transform our situation.
On this path we have encountered other women who were organizing with the same dreams and different strategies. With them, we formed the feminist movement and the movement of women and diversities.
STRATEGIC LINES

Feminist political incidence
Manuela Ramos, from her institutional political positioning, understands advocacy as an intentional, systematic process that involves carrying out a set of public-policy actions aimed at influencing decision-makers at the national, regional, and local levels, with the goal of achieving improvements in the lives of women in their diversity.
We promote local-territorial initiatives alongside women and human rights defenders from social organizations, aiming to influence the political will of authorities so that they prioritize actions and, where possible, ensure funding for the implementation of policies that guarantee the exercise of women's rights, eradicating gender stereotypes and all forms of discrimination.

Competency development
Set of actions aimed at strengthening or expanding the capacities of rights holders and those with obligations and responsibilities, in order to improve access to quality public services and the exercise of people's rights, especially women in their diversity. Along these lines, we concentrate a set of educational, training, and skill-building actions for public service operators and officials, and on the other hand, for women in their diversity, with the aim of expanding and improving access to quality public services for both the gender-based violence response pathway and for the exercise of the right to health, political rights, and sexual and reproductive rights.

Feminist empowerment
A set of actions aimed at increasing the authority and power of women in their diversity over resources and decisions affecting their lives, seeking their individual and collective awareness, for the promotion of social change. Feminist empowerment is an uphill process that women and people of diverse sexualities undertake when they become informed, reflect together, reverse situations of violence, and make personal and collective decisions for their well-being and development, and mobilize to demand guarantees and protection of their rights from their authorities.

Rights defense
Public disclosure actions and legal guidance in cases of violation or restriction of women's rights in their diversity. Likewise, communication and multisectoral articulation and dialogue actions to place the State's actions and policies, the justice system, and the management of public services aimed at guaranteeing the rights of women and LGBTIQ+ people on the public agenda.

Alliance building
Creation and strengthening of networks and linkages with feminist organizations and public and private institutions with whom we share values and strategies to enhance collective action in favor of the rights of women in their diversity. We sustain our commitment to collective action, inter-institutional collaboration, and citizen mobilization to defend and not retreat on the rights of women in their diversity.

Knowledge generation
Actions that arise from institutional practice, aimed at generating evidence, systematizing and analyzing experiences, developing and validating methodologies, and expanding competencies. Our institutional practice as a source of knowledge has resulted in studies that allow us to deepen our understanding and account for the barriers and impacts of patriarchal and structural violence on the exercise of women's rights.

Communication for Change
Set of actions and channels for disseminating information, raising awareness, arguing, and denouncing, aimed at generating public opinion favorable to women's rights in their diversity. We understand that our capacity for informing, raising awareness, arguing, and denouncing aimed at generating public opinion favorable to gender equality and human rights also comes through mass media and the use of social networks.

Feminist activism and mobilization
A set of actions aimed at promoting active citizen participation and collective action in defense and expansion of rights and their exercise in democracy. Feminist action is carried out in private and public spaces, from the symbolic to the practical, from reflection to mobilization, promoting and building social movement for democracy and the expansion of human rights for women and diverse groups.
